NDs for Truth Season 2 #5: Dr. David Nortman and Dr. Moshe live discussion on the Pandemic Post-Mortem: Why do reasonable people believe in unreasonable things?
On, Thursday Nov. 17 Dr. David Nortman, N.D. and Dr. Moshe discuss the fundamental social and psychological factors that gave rise to and enabled the Covid-19 pandemic. Informed in part by Ernest Becker’s The Denial of Death – a classic work of anthropology that plumbs the roots of human nature – we’ll be asking why so many people, even when presented with clear evidence against the pandemic narrative, persist in believing it.
David Nortman, N.D., is a 2004 CCNM graduate who has also studied science and philosophy at the University of Toronto and philosophy of science at Tel-Aviv University. Based in Toronto, he mostly works with clients around the world on a remote basis. Though his modality of choice is classical homeopathy, his quest for addressing physical obstacles to cure has led him down paths such as using neurofeedback to treat traumatic brain injury, and to screening patients for obstructive sleep apnea, a remarkably common yet under-recognized cause of chronic disease.
As an active participant in the homeopathic community, David was involved in the publication of the English version of Wondrous Order, a groundbreaking book on homeopathic remedies from the plant kingdom, and completed in-depth video interviews with homeopaths Jan Scholten and Harry van der Zee. In 2019 he presented a talk titled “Homeopathy’s Contribution to the Advancement of Consilience” at the Society for Scientific Exploration, a forum for research into unconventional scientific topics. He is currently working on his own homeopathy book, where he will survey traditional and modern homeopathic techniques and explore their relevance to contemporary science and philosophy.
Away from the clinic, David is a singer specializing in early music of the Renaissance and Baroque eras. More recently he has discovered the joys of rock climbing, barefoot hiking, and cold-weather sunbathing, and hopes to transition from cold showers to cold baths sometime this winter.
