NDs for Truth #16: Medical Miracles, An irreparable split in Naturopathic Medicine and a New School with Dr. Christie Fleetwood, ND, RPh, VNMI

Christie Fleetwood, ND, RPh, VNMI earned her bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in 1988. After 10 years as a retail pharmacist, she quit her career, sold everything she owned (including a brand new custom-built home on acreage), left everyone she knew, and moved across the universe to embark on her doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine --earned in 2004 from Bastyr University. Immediately after completing licensing exams, Dr. Fleetwood moved back across the universe with her husband and 2 small children (both born during naturopathic medical school) to the unlicensed state of Virginia where she got to witness medical miracles on a daily basis. When the hubby's west coast job asked him to return 8 years later, Dr. Fleetwood added professional teaching and writing to her list of accomplishments. To date she has created courses/curricula for students of naturopathic medicine, continuing education for the naturopathic profession (typically those hard-to-find relevant PHARMACY credits), and the lay public, including her first published book, "Diseases of the Drugs: the Diabetes Connection".
